Using the tool
You may use this site free of charge, for personal or commercial purposes, without an account and without asking permission. That includes making photos for other people — a family member, or customers of a shop.
Please do not attempt to break the site for other people: no denial-of-service, no attacks on the hosting platform, no scraping so aggressive it degrades availability. Copying the page content wholesale to republish as your own is not permitted either (see below on what you may reuse).
No guarantee of acceptance
This matters more than anything else here, so it is stated plainly:
Whether a photo is accepted is decided solely by the authority that issues your document. This site is independent and has no role in that decision. It crops to the published size and head-height rules and flags what it can check automatically; it cannot assess lighting, focus, expression, clothing, how recent the photo is, or the many other grounds on which a photo can be refused.
Specifications are compiled from official sources and cited on each page, but they can be out of date, mis-transcribed, or inferred where the authority publishes only a diagram. Check the linked official source before relying on a figure for something that matters. If you find an error, please report it.
You are responsible for the photo you submit. Nothing here is legal or immigration advice.
Your photo, and warranty
You keep every right in your own photo. This site acquires no rights in it and no copy of it — it never receives one. Correspondingly, you are responsible for having the right to use the image you load.
The tool is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for any loss arising from use of the site — including a rejected application, a missed deadline, travel costs, or reprinting fees. If you are in a jurisdiction that does not permit excluding certain liabilities, those exclusions do not apply to you.
Availability is not guaranteed either. The site may change or disappear without notice.
The sample images on this site
The framing diagrams and the accepted/rejected examples across these pages are generated from a portrait licensed for this use. They are published under the following terms:
- You may reproduce them to explain photo requirements — in a blog post, a help page, a class, or a shop's own instructions — provided you credit "ID Photo Maker" with a link to this site.
- You may not present them as a photograph of a real applicant, use them as or within an identity document, or imply that the person shown endorses anything.
- You may not resell them as stock imagery.
The person shown is a model in a photograph made for this purpose. The images illustrate framing geometry; they are not a submitted or accepted document photo from any real application.
Trademarks and official references
Names of governments, authorities and document types appear here to identify the requirements they publish. This is nominative reference only. No affiliation with or endorsement by any of them is claimed — see About. Any trademarks remain their owners'.
Governing terms
If a provision here is unenforceable, the rest still applies. These terms may be updated; the version on this page at the time you use the site is the one that applies.
